Lobbying for LS ticket to Poojari: Cong delegation from DK meets CM, KPCC Chief

Bangalore, Jan 24, 2014: A delegation from the District Congress Committee including  Congress Corporators from Mangalore as well as the  former Suratkal MLA Vijaykumar Shetty met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the capital on January 23, Thursday and urged him to choose senior leader B Janardhan Poojari as the party candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency.

As many  as 300 Congress workers and leaders had travelled to Bangalore  to lobby for a ticket for Poojari.

They voiced their strong opposition to any move to give a ticket to Union Minister Veerappa Moily’s son Harsha Moily  from the constituency and insisted that Poojari was the ideal candidate. The delegation also met KPCC Chief Dr G Parameshwar and submitted a memorandum to him in this regard.

The delegation apprised the CM as well as the KPCC Chief of the fact that Poojari was instrumental in securing a win for the Congress in the MCC elections as well as in the Assembly elections where the party had won in all constituencies except Sullia.
