Kundapur, Dec 30, 2012: The platinum jubilee celebrations of the Kundapur branch of Karnataka Bank were held at RN Shetty Hall on December 29, Saturday.
Speaking as a chief guest, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde said Karnataka Bank opened its branch in Kundapur at a time when the place had seen not much development in any other sector except fishing.
He said over the years the Bank has registered tremendous progress and presently has over 500 branches across the state.
P Jayaram Bhat, Managing Director of Karnataka Bank, who presided over the function, said the Bank has 516 branches and 430 ATM centres across the state. It has 40 lakh customers and one lakh shareholders, he further informed and added Karnataka Bank has set a target of reaching Rs one lakh crore business.
Senior Customers of the Kundapur branch of the Bank namely Subraya Udupa,Narayan Shenoy, BM Hamza, Shantha Adiga and Seetaram Nakkantaya, were felicitated on the occasion.
