Krishnapur Mutt pontiff Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji ascends Paryaya Peetha

Udupi, Jan 18, 2022: Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Mutt ascended the Paryaya Sarvajna Peetha of Udupi Krishna Mutt at a  ceremony held at the Mutt on January 18 morning. The Krishnapur  Mutt pontiff took  charge of the Krishna Mutt for a period of two years from  the outgoing Paryaya seer of Admar Mutt Sri Eshapriya Theertha Swamiji. This is the fourth Paryaya for the Krishnapur Mutt pontiff.

 

 

Earlier, a grand and colourful Paryaya procession was taken out in the town during the wee hours of Tuesday.The ascending Paryaya seer was accorded a traditional welcome at Jodukatte. This time  only six tableaux were part of the procession.

Despite Covid protocols thousands of devotees took part in the procession. All the Ashta Mutt seers were part of the procession in palanquins. This time the palanquins were placed in vehicles in order avoid rush.

The new Paryaya seer had darshan of Lord Krishna through Kanakana Kindi.  He also offered prayers to Lord Chandramouleshwara and Lord Anantheshwara. The  Akshaya Patra was handed over to the  new Paryaya seer by outgoing Paryaya seer Eshapriya Theertha Swamiji of  Admar Mutt.
