Konaje BCM Hostel students stage protest demanding better amenities

Mangalore, March 17, 2013:  A protest was staged by the student inmates of the Backward Classes and Minorities Hostel at Konaje on March 16, Saturday in order to pressurize the authorities to provide better facilities at the hostel.

The agitators complained that they were supplied with poor quality food and that even the facilities available at the hostel were far from better. They said though the hostel warden Srikanth after repeated appeals assured to provide good food, nothing changed forcing the students to stage protest.

 

Some of the students even complained that they were at times supplied stale food and that even the hostel was very unclean and toilets ill-maintained.

Local Legislator UT Khader along with Taluk Panchayat officials rushed to the spot and assured the agitating students that steps would be taken to improve the facilities at the hostel.
