Mangaluru, Mar 31, 2026: The parents of the recently deceased Sudeep Rai have demanded a high-level investigation, alleging that their son’s death was caused by mental harassment, abuse, and poisoning by his wife.
Speaking at a press club on Tuesday, the deceased’s father, B. Damodara Nelyadi, stated, “The main reason for my son’s death was a quarrel initiated by his wife on March 17 at Nelyadi Pete. Following this, she allegedly threatened my son and his family, took him along, and subjected him to mental harassment. His condition later became critical, and he was admitted to the hospital. He passed away in the early hours of March 29.”
Meanwhile, a person named Venugopal also claimed that he had experienced similar mental harassment from the same woman. He said their relationship, which had reached the stage of marriage last year, eventually broke down due to the alleged abuse. Unable to cope with the mental stress, he had even moved to Mumbai for some time. He added that if their relationship had continued, he might have faced a fate similar to Sudeep Rai. He urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for the deceased.
