Mangalore, Dec 30, 2012: If BJP says Narendra Modi is the symbol of development in Gujarat, for KJP it is Yeddyurappa in Karnataka, claimed KJP leader and former union minister V Dhananjaya Kumar.
Speaking after inaugurating the first convention of the Karnataka Janatha Party at the NGO Hall in Mangalore on December 29, Saturday, Dhananjaya also challenged that the KJP would refrain from politics if BJP wins the next elections.
Dhananjaya said former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda had no right to speak about the KJP as he had failed to repair even the roads of Puttur while as CM.
Dhananjaya also gave a long list of the works done by Yeddyurappa during his tenure as CM as well as the funds released under various schemes. He claimed that there was huge crowd for the formal inauguration of KJP and also said Yeddyurappa had created history in the political arena.
On the recent raid on the residence of Deputy CM Eshwarappa, Dhananjaya said all assets of the leader must be seized and distributed among poor.
Another KJP leader Ramachander Baikampady who delivered the key-note address said a systematic conspiracy was on to tarnish the image of the KJP President Yeddyurappa. He also said the BJP intends to create more trouble for Yeddyurappa when he becomes the chief minister.
Several KJP leaders including Mariamma Thomas, Nazeer Ahmed, Jagadish Hiremani, and Subbaiah Shetty were also present.
