Mangalore, Jan 2, 2013: The Janatha Dal (Secular) will hold a huge convention of party workers at Asaigoli Central Maidan on January 4, Friday at 2 pm.
Informing this to reporters at Press Club on January 2, Wednesday, State JD(S) Vice President B Nagaraj Shetty said state JD(S) Chief and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the convention and M B Sadashiv, District President of the party, will preside.
He said several JD(S) leaders including former minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, Yuva Janata Dal President Madhu Bangarappa, David Simeon, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, Afzal Agha Khan, former MLA K Amarnath Shetty, JD(S) Minorities unit President Shakeel Ahmed and others will participate in the convention.
Shetty said that he has been traveling in three districts to gauge the mood of the electorate and claimed that the situation was conducive for the JD(S). Shetty also hinted that former MLAs Shakuntala Shetty and Haladi Srinivas Shetty may join the JD(S) any moment.
No JD(S) leader or worker will quit the party, he made it clear and said that even if someone quits it would make no difference to the party.
Commenting on Eshwarappa’s resignation, he said already much has been talked about on the issue and added he would not like to lay his hands into the dirt.
A JD(S) convention will also be held at Belthangady on January 4, Friday morning, Shetty informed.
