Indian and American musicians mesmerize audience at Alva’s Virasat

Moodbidri, Jan 16: Alva’s Virasat featured splendid performances by Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath, the renowned violin players, and Ned McGoven, the contrabass flutist from America, which together formed a charming blend of the East and the West.

American flutist Ned is playing his silver-coated flute for the first time in India. His rendering of “Walk With Me,” which he composed in the Charukeshi Raga delighted the audience.

The audience was also delighted with the tabla performance of Pandit Ramkumar, the mrudanga performance of Vidhwan B. C. Manjunatha, the keyboard performance of M. B. Gururaj, and the ghatam performance of Giridhar Udupa. 

P. Jayaram Bhat, the MD of Karnataka Bank; entrepreneurs Ravichandran and Jerry Crasta; Higher Education Minister Dr. V. S. Acharya; and Dr. Mohan Alva presented mementos to the artists.

A number of cultural shows formed the highlights of the event.
