New Delhi, Aug 28, 2013 : Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that he was committed to ban the controversial Made Snana ritual practiced in some temples of the state.
Speaking to reporters at the Karnataka Bhavan here on August 27, Tuesday, the CM said he was strongly against such superstitious beliefs and practices.
It is regrettable that people still follow such superstitious rituals, he said adding as the case is before the court, the government would fight the same in the court. He pointed out that he had opposed the practice in the past too when he was the opposition leader.
He also stated that an amicable environment would be created in the state by putting a brake to the activities of some right wing organizations like Bhajrangdal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat.
The CM also said the Congress Government was committed to make Karnataka the top state in development.
