Udupi, July 25, 2023: Udupi District Superintendent of Police Akshay Machindra Hakey has urged the public not to believe rumours regarding a news circulating in social media that a hidden camera was placed in the washroom of a private college in Udupi by female students of another community.

Speaking to reporters on July 25, Tuesday, the SP said the Police Department has no information regarding any such video. Moreover no clue is available regarding placing any hidden camera, he said.

Rumours are being spread that photos and videos are used to blackmail, he said adding the Police Department has kept an eye on social media.
