Former MLA Vinaykumar Sorake who too participated  in the protest  said locals must get exemption as earlier. People of the region who have sacrificed their lands for the highway expansion are made to  bear the brunt of toll, he said.

The protestors also submitted a memorandum to the NHAI officials on the occasion. Nagarika Samithi  President Shekhar Hejamady and several others participated in the protest.
