Mangaluru, June 8, 2025: The Bajrang Dal has alleged that the police are attempting to implicate Bharat Kumdel, a member of the organization, in the Abdul Rahman murder case that occurred in Kolthmajalu. Speaking at a press conference in the city, Bajrang Dal South Region Coordinator Prabhanjan Surya claimed that the police raided Kumdel’s house without evidence and vowed to oppose any attempts to falsely accuse him.
Prabhanjan stated that there are allegations suggesting the Rahman murder may have stemmed from a personal dispute or illegal sand mining activities. He called on the government to conduct a fair and thorough investigation, asserting that the police department was being misused under pressure from the Muslim community to fabricate false charges against Hindutva leaders and activists.
The Congress government had previously considered banning the Bajrang Dal to secure Muslim votes during elections. Additionally, it has allegedly attempted to tarnish the organization’s reputation by filing false cases against its activists and leaders. In the coastal district, the government is accused of furthering its agenda by including the names of Bajrang Dal leaders in lists of rowdy-sheeters and goonda elements, he stated.
Regional Co-Coordinator Bhujanga Kulal criticized the issuance of deportation notices for individuals with minor cases and questioned why the police could not gather information during regular hours.
Division Coordinator Puneeth Attavara and District Coordinator Naveen Moodusheddhe were also present at the press conference, voicing their support for Kumdel and demanding an unbiased investigation into the case.
