Bengaluru, June 8, 2025: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday launched its investigation into the stampede incident that occurred at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

As part of the probe, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and the Cubbon Park Police jointly arrested Nikhil Sosale, Head of Marketing and Revenue for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), along with three individuals from DNA Entertainment Private Limited. CID sources confirmed plans to request a body warrant from the court on Monday to facilitate their interrogation.

Meanwhile, any action against KSCA office-bearers remains on hold due to a High Court directive. CID sources stated that the next steps in investigating cases involving KSCA would depend on further judicial orders.

The incident has sparked widespread concern over stadium safety and crowd management, prompting a thorough inquiry into the lapses that led to the tragic event.
