Head scarf row at Srinivas College : Muslim students stage protest

Mangaluru, Aug 27, 2016: Muslim Students of Srinivas College Valachil staged a protest outside the College today, August 27 Saturday, against the college administration for restricting Muslim girls from wearing head scarf. Even parents participated in the protest and shouted slogans against the college.

It is said that students were also irked over strict rules which are imposed on the Muslim students wherein they were not allowed to attend Friday Namaz and there was also a ban on beards.

One of the student alleged that religious freedom was snatched away from the students by beard ban and said the students will fight until justice is done.

Mangaluru Rural Police have tightened the security around the college premises.

We ahve to respect over one another’s religion .But the education shouldn’t give importance to the custom of any religion. Today if we allow the Muslims to do leave them free to follow their custom..They want it will hurt the feelings of other religion, Which will give rise to communal riots
