It is only then that Rama Rajya can be a reality in the true sense as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhiji, said District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao.

He was speaking after hoisting the national tri-colour during the 75th Republic Day celebrations held at Nehru Maidan on Friday under the aegis of the District Administration.

A people-friendly administration is the basic principle of Rama Rajya, he said adding the Congress government has kept its words by implementing all five guarantees within seven months of coming to power.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, ZP CEO Dr Anand, SP CB Rishyanth, MCC Commissioner Anand, Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Harish Kumar, Manjunatha Bhandary and others were present.

In Udupi too, the 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor. State Minister for Women and Child Welfare and District in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar hoisted the National Flag at the Mahatma Gandhi Grounds at Ajjarkad.
