Gautam of Alva’s wins Over 96kg Category of South India Wrestling Championship

Mangalore, Jan 30, 2012 : Gautam of the Moodubidri-based Alva’s Group won Over 96kg Category of the South India Level Men’s Wrestling Championship, which was held in the city recently. The runner up is Adarsh.

Prema Uchanavar won the Women’s 48kg Category.
The event was organized by the DK District Amateur Wrestling Federation.

Winners of the men’s categories
The winners of the Men’s 55kg Category are Prashant Shetty (DK), Manjunath S Kadam (Haliyal, Uttara Kannada), and Kenchappa (Davangere).
The winners of the Men’s 60kg Category are Shariff Jamadar (DK), Chandrashekhar (Davangere), and Navin Kumar (Mysore).

The winners of the Men’s 66kg Category are Gopi K (Davangere), Kumar (Mysore), and Anand (DK).

 

The winners of the Men’s 74kg Category are Lokesh L Shetty (KSP), Kartik (Davangere), and Rakesh (DK).
The winners of the Men’s 84kg Category are Kenchappa (KSP), Vinod Kumar (Mysore), and Anish (DK).

The winners of the Men’s 96kg Category are N C Nyama Gowda (KSP), S R L Shetty, and Ajay (DK).

The winners of the Women’s 48kg Category are Prema Uchanavar (Gadag), Reshma Amboji (Belgaum), Amita (DK), and Poonam (Alva’s).

The winners of the Women’s 51kg Category are Basheera (Gadag), Yogeeta Patil (Alva’s), Radha (Mysore), and Deepa (DK).

The winners of the Women’s 55kg Category are Shahida (Gadag), Nagaratna Siddi (Belgaum), Ranjeeta (Alva’s), and Nishmita (DK).

The winners of the Women’s 59kg Category are Reeta Priyanka (Mysore), Aishwarya (Belgaum), Jyoti Uppar (Gadag), and Sonam (DK).

 

 

The winners of the Women’s 63kg Category are Atmashree (Alva’s), Meghana (Tumkur), and Namita (DK).

The winners of the Women’s 67kg Category are Ramya M R (Mysore, Anusha (Alva’s), and Shubhalakshmi (DK).

Valedictory Ceremony

Ajith Kumar Malady, the president of the International Bunts Foundation, presided over the valedictory ceremony.

The chief guests of the event were Sadananda Shetty, the honorary president of the organizing committee; A. J. Shetty, the secretary of the Karnataka State Amateur Wrestling Federation; Narasimha M. R., Shyamsundar Shetty Mumbai, and Chandrahas Shetty.

Vijaya Kanchan, the winner of a medal at the international power lifting competition held in Japan, was honored on this occasion.

Sureshchandra Shetty, the honorary president of the DK District Wrestling Federation; Sukhpal Salian, the working president; Prakash Karkera, the treasurer; and Rohidas Bangera of Ullal were also present.
