GVFI to start jackfruit revolution to popularize jackfruit in US

Mangalore, June 16, 2012: Anne Marie Ryu, founder CEO of Global Village Fruits Incorporated (GVFI), United States announced the beginning of a jackfruit revolution in US and India on June 16, Saturday.

Addressing reporters at a press meet held at Press Club, Anne said that the purpose of the revolution is to popularize the jackfruit and create awareness about its nutritional value.

 

 

She said that GVFI is working to create awareness on the uses of the jackfruit. Stating that last year, nobody in the US knew about the jackfruit, she said that the GVFI has now created a sizable market for the jackfruit in the US. The aim of the GVFI is to introduce a wide range of jackfruit products in the US within the next five years, she said.

Stating that the success of this revolution is possible only with the assistance of jackfruit lovers all over the country, she said that the GVFI requires help to create awareness of jackfruit and jackfruit products. Further, she said that she is writing a book on jackfruits.

The jackfruit revolution promises to benefit processors, producers, as well as consumers, she added.

Fr. Alwyn D’Souza, Prof. Uday Kumar Kollinath, and Jagadish Amunje were also present.
