Mangalore, Oct. 3, 2011: Free medical check-up for kids with cardiac problems inaugurated at AJ Hospital and Research Centre on Oct 3 Monday.
Dr. Prashanth Marla, the medical director, delivered the welcome address; P. Jayarama Bhat, the managing director and chief executive officer of Karnataka Bank, and Dr. Ramesh Pai, the dean of AJ Institute of Medical Science, delivered the inaugural address; and A. J. Shetty, the chairman and managing director of AJ Group, presided.
Dr. Prem Alva, the consultant, pediatric interventional cardiology at AJ Hospital, gave an AV presentation titled Pediatric Interventional Cardiology.
AJ Hospital and Research Centre is conducting this free camp for kids with cardiac problems as part of its centenary celebrations. The camp will be held from Oct 3 – 15 and participants will receive free consultation and Echo. In case treatment is required, the children will get it at a concession.
Kids with heart problems, recurrent respiratory infections, who turn blue while crying, suffer from difficulties in breathing while playing, and so on can attend the camp.
The Interventional Pediatric Cardiology facility is the first of its kind to be set up in coastal Karnataka by AJ Hospital and Research Centre, benefiting a large number of kids whose parents could not afford to take them all the way to Bangalore or Chennai for treatment.
