Forest Minister Rai comes under fire for pulling down wall of his Vidhana Saudha chamber

Mangalore, June 5, 2013: State Minister for Forests Ecology and Environment and Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has  come under sharp criticism for allegedly bringing down a wall between his chamber and the room of his personal staff at the third floor of the Vidhana Saudha.

The issue even created uproar on the floor of the House with  former CM Yeddyurappa as well as several JD(S) leaders raising the issue. According to sources, the walls between room No. 304 and 305 have been demolished.

 

However Rai has rubbished the allegations and has clarified that he has not ordered for demolition of the wall but had only sought a spacious room. He also made it clear that he cannot be blamed as he has not yet entered his chamber.

But, sources close to Rai while denying reports that the wall was demolished on Vaastu grounds, said the move was to facilitate easy communication between the minister and his staff.

In an earlier case,  Shanker Patil Munenkoppa, Political Secretary of former CM Yeddyurappa too had demolished a portion of a wall of rooms 340 and 340 A on the same floor of Vidhana Saudha.
