Mangalore, Feb 16, 2012: Expressing his condolences on the death of Dr. V. S. Acharya, the higher education minister and district-in-charge minister of Udupi, R. Ashok, the home minister of Karnataka, said that Dr. Acharya was not only a BJP minister, but also a guide to all the ministers of Karnataka for the past six years.
Stating that Dr. V. S. Acharya was a unique leader with friends from all political parties, he said that he was also a mentor for all the ministers in the cabinets of CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda and former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa.
The home minister interacted with reporters when he landed at Mangalore Airport on Wednesday, on his way to Udupi to participate in a special condolence meeting held in honor of Dr. V. S. Acharya.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat; Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner; BJP spokesperson for DK district; and Raghavendra Rao, the president of Mangalore South Yuva Morcha, were also present.
