Mangaluru, June 22, 2019: Renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Rajesh Bhat (44) of Bhat’s Nursing Home collapsed to death while participating in a badminton tournament at Mangala Stadium on June 22, Saturday.
He was the son of late Dr Malathi Bhat who too was a well-known gynaecologist of Mangaluru. Dr Rajesh Bhat suffered a massive heart attack. Though he was immediately rushed to AJ Hospital, his life could not be saved.
Dr Rajesh is survived by his wife Dr Veena Bhat. Dr Rajesh had even worked at KS Hegde Medical Academy for some time before joining his mother Dr Malathi Bhat at Bhat’s Nursing Home.
The badminton tournament "Mangalore Premier League" has been cancelled following Dr Bhat’s demise.
