Ullal: Man dies of severe bleeding after smashing glass showcase in drunken rage

Mangaluru, July 4, 2025: In a tragic turn of events, a 38-year-old man died after suffering a fatal injury caused by breaking a glass showcase during a drunken altercation at his residence in Madur Site near Ullal late on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Nitesh Nayak (38), son of Satish Nayak. According to sources, Nitesh had a history of frequent domestic disputes with his father and brother, which reportedly escalated again that night.

In a fit of rage, Nitesh is said to have struck a glass showcase inside the house, causing it to shatter. A shard of glass reportedly severed a major artery in his hand, resulting in excessive bleeding. Despite efforts, he could not be saved.

Nitesh and his brother were reportedly co-running a food stall and had just returned home from work when the incident occurred. He was married but had been living separately from his wife.

Following a complaint filed by Nitesh’s mother, Ullal police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
