Mangalore, Oct 7, 2013: A nine-day doll exhibition organised by ‘Nammavaru’ as part of Dasara celebrations, was inaugurated at Sharavu Mahaganapathy Temple Auditorium on October 6, Sunday.
Nammavaru is an association of Brahmin families hailing from old Mysore region who are now settled in Mangalore. Over 1000 dolls are on display at the exhibition. Raghavendra Shastry, Managing Trustee of the Sharavu Temple, inaugurated the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Shastry said such exhibitions go a long way in keeping alive the culture and traditions of a region.
Prabhaker Rao, Director of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd was present as a chief guest.
