Udupi, Feb 14, 2012 : The Kaup Block Congress, the Congress Women’s Wing, and the Youth Congress organized a protest at Hiriyadka Bus Stand on the evening of Feb 13 Monday against all those involved in the porn-viewing episode in assembly and the organization of a rave party under the guise of an art and music festival on St. Mary’s Island.

Vasanth V. Salian, the former minister, addressed the gathering and said that the three ministers who resigned should also be disqualified from assembly. Stating that the speaker had in the past suspended ministers who behaved in an unruly manner, he said that the three guilty ministers are still allowed to continue in assembly. Demanding the immediate suspension of the three MLAs, he said that Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat must resign as he was involved in the organization of the Island Festival.

The protestors displayed posters bearing pictures of Laxman Savadi, CM Sadananda Gowda, C. C. Patil, Prabhakar Bhat, Krishna Palemar, and Raghupathi Bhat in swimsuits.

M. A. Gafoor, the member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee; Sudhir Hegde, the president of the Kaup Block Congress; Harish Kini, the president of the Alevoor GP; Ramesh Kanchan, the member of the Taluk Panchayat; and Congress workers Amrith Shenoy, Laxminarayan Prabhu, Abdul Aziz, Mithun, and others were also present.
