Congress minority cell organizes Hajj training camp

Mangalore, Oct 7: The DK District Congress Minority Cell organized a half-day Hajj training camp, during which Ihram was distributed free of charge, for the people undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage this year. President of DK District Congress Minority Cell Mohiuddin Bawa welcomed the gathering.

 

 

Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar, the Mangalore qazi, inaugurated the camp and spoke about the importance of Hajj and advised the pilgrims to undertake their journey as per the dictates of the Sunnah and the Quran. Zainul Abideen, the qazi of Mudigere, distributed Ihram among the pilgrims. Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar, the qazi of Udupi presided. Maulana Abdul Wahid Faizi, the khateeb of Central Jum’a Masjid, and S. P. Hamza Saqafi, the editor of Moilanji Kannada monthly, were the resource persons.

Razzak Kukkaje was the comperer. Ivan D’Souza, B. A. Mumthaz Ali, K. S. Mohammed Masood, Haneef Haji, Basheer Baikampady, and other Congress leaders were present for the training camp.

About 200 pilgrims, including 50 women, from all over the twin districts participated in this camp, which commenced at 10:30 a.m. at Town Hall in Mangalore.
