Congress criticizes Advani’s anti-corruption ratha yatra

Mangalore, Sep 17, 2011 : Criticizing BJP leader L. K. Advani’s move to launch a ratha yatra against corruption, Vijayakumar Shetty, the former MLA, said that his former ratha yatra killed many people and the present ratha yatra is sure to lead to a lot of lawlessness.

 

He also pointed out that Advani’s anti-corruption activities are ridiculous especially when he could do nothing against the corrupt activities of B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka. Making a list of corrupt BJP leaders, he said that Janardhana Reddy and Katta Subrahmanya Naidu are already in jail and even C. P. Yogishwar is on his way there for his involvement in the major city project fraud.

He challenged Advani to launch his ratha yatra in Bellary or Shikaripura, the home constituency of B. S. Yeddyurappa. Accusing Advani to trying to find a place in the list of crusaders against corruption, he urged Advani to focus on BJP-ruled states such as Karnataka and Uttarkhand, where most of the BJP leaders are corrupt.

Reminding people of how Advani had destroyed communal peace by leading a ratha yatra during the Ayodhya issue, he said that Advani’s anti-corruption ratha yathra will do no good to anyone.

Congress leaders Harinath, T. K. Sudhir, and Shashidhar Hegde were also present.
