Conductor’s death: City top cop asks bus operators to install doors to buses

Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2023: In the wake of the recent accident wherein a young conductor fell off a moving bus and died of severe head injuries in the city, Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain has asked bus operators to have doors fixed to the buses as a measure to prevent bus conductors or passengers from falling down while the bus is moving.

 

It may be recalled here that 23 year old Eerayya had lost balance and fell down from the bus resulting in his death at Nantur circle in the city on Tuesday afternoon. He was working in the route number 15 bus which took a sudden turn at Nantur circle resulting in the conductor falling off the bus from the front door.

Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he died the same night. Eerayya who hailed from Bagalkote resided in Suratkal Thadambail.

A case has been registered against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving.
