Mangalore, Mar 2, 2013: City Centre Mall in Mangalore was a hub of activity on March 2, Saturday when the US Consulate General, Chennai organized its ‘Experience America’ programme at the Mall. Judy Reinke, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs inaugurated the eagerly awaited programme that gave a glimpse of America to Mangaloreans.
Speaking on the occasion, Judy Reinke said Experience America is organized in a mall where friends and families come for an outing or shopping, as it can reach to more people here.
Experience America has on display catalogs of various universities of the US, a variety of contests, Quiz/Trivia etc. The much awaited ice cream tasting and eating contest was also arranged by one of America’s best brands Baskin Robbins.
The programme also furnishes information on business investment opportunities, tourism opportunities and food outlets of the US.
Cultural Affairs officer Shanna Dietz Surendra, Public Affairs Officer David J Gainer and others were present.
The main objective of Experience America is to share American information on culture, business, travel, study and other fields. It is a programme that showcases the U.S. Consulate’s educational and cultural resources, including the services of the American Library, the U.S.-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), and the U.S. Commercial Service.
