Mangalore May 6: Karavali Teachers’ Training Institute of Karavali College organized a 2-day “Citizenship Training Camp 2009 – 10” at Pilikula Nisargadhama on May 6, Thursday.

President of GRE Education Trust S. Ganesh Rao inaugurated the event and said that satisfaction in life can be obtained through service and sacrifice. He called upon the media to highlight the good deeds of people and inspire the readers instead of highlighting negative issues. 

J. R. Lobo, KAS, the Executive Director of Science Centre, Pilikula, said that a citizenship camp is the need of the hour. Speaking about the necessity of having a country and the spirit of nationalism, he said that responsible citizenship is required for the efficient running of democracy. He concluded by saying that citizenship camps should be held mandatorily so that people can properly understand the concepts of democracy and citizenship. 

Principal of Shri Govinda Dasa College Prof K Raj Mohan Rao and Dr B Shivaram Shetty of the Kannada Research Centre of Mangalore University were present.
