Cattle smuggling: Pandeshwar cops seize 8 cows at Falnir

Mangalore, Dec 6, 2013  : Pandeshwar police who have detected a case of  cattle smuggling, have seized  as many as eight cows which were being unauthorisedly transported in a Bolero pick-up vehicle at Falnir in Mangalore on  December 6, Friday morning. Sources revealed that the cattle were being smuggled from BC Road to a slaughter house in the city.

 

 

 

The operation followed a tip off and the police found six cows and two calves. It is learnt, they were stolen from various places in Bantwal.

Police sources said the Bolero vehicle bearing registration No. KA 19D7593 was proceeding at great speed and that someone who noticed this passed on the information. The police who were on the alert later then found the vehicle parked at Falnir. However those in the vehicle had taken to their heels then.

Investigations are underway.
