CPI holds condolence meeting in tribute to late Kakkilaya

Mangalore, June 6, 2012 : The DK unit of the Communist Party of India organized a condolence meeting in honor of the late B. V. Kakkilaya, senior CPI leader on June 5, Tuesday.

During the meeting, the need for a unified communist movement in India was discussed and those present swore that they will continue fighting for the cause of the people.

Several CPI activists, people associated with Kakkilaya, and a large group of beedie workers were present at the meeting. K. V. Krishnan of Kerala State CPI Council also took part in the meeting.

Siddanagouda Patil, member of the CPI national council, inaugurated the event and said that Kakkilaya devoted his life for the poor and the downtrodden in society. He added that the senior leader was not only a politician, but also a thinker.


B. K. Krishnappa, CPI former district secretary, also spoke on the occasion.
