CISF security personnel commits suicide by shooting himself at New Mangalore Port

Mangaluru, Oct 22, 2023: A sub inspector attached to Central Industrial Security Force in New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) on Sunday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at the main entrance of NMPA, sources said.

The deceased has been identified as Mr. Zakir Hussain, a 54-year-old resident of Raichur and a CISF Sub-Inspector.

He completed his shift and handed over the charge to the morning shift in-charge. At around 6:30 am, he proceeded to the washroom next to the main gate and shot himself, police said.

A case has been registered at the Panambur police station and an investigation is on.
