CFI protests against hijab ban in Ramakunjeshwar College

Mangalore, July 26, 2012: The Campus Front of India (CFI) organized a protest near Jyothi Circle against the management of Shri Ramakunjeshwar College, during which they condemned false statements made by the college against the state president of the CFI on July 24, Tuesday. 


Mohammed Imran, president of the district unit of the CFI, said in his protest address that Shri Ramakunjeshwara College is saffronized, adding that the CFI will oppose the college’s attempts to throw out its Muslim students.

Condemning the college for not permitting students wearing headscarves to attend classes, he said that these students missed several classes. Stating that the Indian Constitution permits every individual to freely practice his/her religion, he said that the college has done injustice to students by imposing a ban on headscarves. 


He said that the CFI will stage intense protests if justice is not done at the earliest possible.
