Body of Dharmasthala’s Akanksha who died in Punjab, brought to residence

Belthangady, May 21, 2025: The mortal remains of 22 year old Akanksha S Nair, an Aerospace employee who died in Punjab after reportedly jumping off the fourth floor of a college building, was brought to her hometown at Boliyar in Dharmasthala on Wednesday morning.

The body which was brought in a flight from Bengaluru was later taken to Boliyar in an ambulance. The tragic demise of Akanksha has shattered her parents Surendra Nair and Sindhudevi and other family members.

Akanksha had been to the LP University of Punjab to get a certificate as she had plans to travel overseas. However on May 17, she reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of the building.


As her parents expressed suspicion over the cause of the death, police have arrested Bijil Mathew, a professor of Kerala origin who served in the college.
