Bantwal, June 13, 2024: An incident of illegal sand transportation was uncovered by the Bantwal Town Police near Pane Mangalore Sagar Auditorium on Wednesday.
The incident came to light when police officers, led by Bantwal Town Police Station Officer Ramakrishna, stopped and inspected a tipper truck coming from BC Road near Pane Mangalore Sagar Auditorium.
During the investigation, the driver, Muhammad Safwan (24), a resident of Kabaka, revealed that he was transporting sand illegally without any permit from the Netravati River in Valachil.
Following this, the police seized the truck and registered a case against the driver.
