Mangalore Today News Network

Udupi, Nov 19, 2012 : D. V. Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister of Karnataka and senior BJP leader, opined that former chief minister B. S. Yeddyurappa’s Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) will have no effect on state politics.

bg 1He told reporters that coastal Karnataka is a BJP stronghold and the KJP can do nothing to change this fact.

Stating that the BJP respects Yeddyurappa for his excellent leadership qualities and organizational skills, he said that the BJP does not have any complaints against him. He also stated that political history has already demonstrated what happens to the individual who quits the party, adding that BSY will not be able to enjoy the same success he once enjoyed outside the BJP. He also hinted that the BJP is willing to take back BSY.

A meeting of BJP leaders was convened in Bangalore to discuss ways to retain BSY and prevent him from organizing a KJP rally in Haveri on Dec 9.

BJP leaders and workers have already assured the BJP high command that they will remain loyal to the party and stay away from the KJP rally.

Mr. Gowda said that even BSY’s supporters were trying to persuade him to remain in the party.
