Udupi, January 15: KPYCC President Krishna Bhairegowda declared that politicians have lost their reputation in the eyes of the people owing to rise in corruption, destruction of democracy, and total neglect of developmental projects. Declaring that the JD (S) and the Congress had protected the good name of the state for nearly 50 years, he said that the state occupied the first position in development during the previous decade. Today, the BJP-ruled Karnataka occupies the number one position for corruption, he added.

Expressing hopes that people will give the final and correct verdict at the end, he said that the BJP will suffer the same fate as that suffered by Bhasmasura, who finally became responsible for his own destruction.

Accusing the BJP of indulging in political prostitution to retain its power, he said that the BJP has launched its infamous Operation Lotus, misused the office of the Speaker to suspend 16 MLAs, and is now attempting to suspend 15 MLAs for one year.

Biswaranjan Mohanthi, the general secretary of the National Youth Congress; Gopal Poojary, the president of the Udupi District Congress; Pramod Madhwaraj, the president of the Udupi Block Congress; Vinay Kumar Sorake, the former MP; K. Jayaprakash Hegde, the former minister; Amrith Shenoy, the general secretary of KPYCC; and others were also present.
