Mangalore, Apr 11, 2013: Students of Canara High School, Urva have created a whole new world in their school by painting its compound wall in vivid hues and colours.
The credit of nurturing and encouraging the talents of the children which are reflected in the wall paintings, go to Harish Acharya, the Art Teacher of the School. He has been motivating students during summer camps. If last year the students had converted the exterior of the school compound into artistic creations, this year they have chosen to pain the interior of the compound wall.
This year, the students are working on a ‘Dashavathara’ painting presenting the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. More importance will be given to local tradition and culture while painting the walls, says Harish Acharya.
Acharya, who has been serving as a art teacher for the past twenty years says quality paints like white, yellow and terracotta etc are being used in order to conserve the paintings and prevent erosion. This year some good slogans are also depicted on the wall in an artistic way, he said.
