Am not an aspirant for CM post : Oscar clarifies

Kundapur, Apr 21, 2013: Senior Congress leader, AICC General Secretary and Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes went on a Padayatra in Hemmady of Kundapur taluk on April 20, Saturday in support of K Gopal Poojari, the Congress candidate from Byndoor.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Oscar clarified that he was not an aspirant to the post of Chief Minister and that neither was he capable of holding the post. He said the opinion of the MLAs would be taken to choose a Chief Ministerial candidate if the party comes to power.

On the resentment in some circles of the party over selection of candidates, Oscar said disappointment was common when there were more number of candidates.

Several Congress leaders including Pratapchandra Shetty, MLC, Gopal Poojary, party candidate from Byndoor, MA Gafoor, KPCC Secretary and others were present on the occasion.
