ASI Srikala harassment case : Complainant, accused abstain from first meet of probe panel

Mangalore, June 5, 2013 : The  nine member committee  that is inquiring into the case of alleged sexual harassment of Pandeshwar ASI Srikala by ACP Jagannath, held its first meeting at the office of the Mangalore Police Commissioner on June 5, Wednesday.

The meeting however was adjourned as  both the accused as well as the complainant abstained. However, all nine members of the Committee were present.

The Committee was constituted as per the directive of the Supreme Court to enquire into cases of sexual harassment at work place.

In the meantime, ACP Jagannath continues to serve in the same posting despite his transfer to Bangalore as the transfer will not be effective until the inquiry is complete.
