A unique all-religion Christmas celebration in Udupi

Udupi, Dec 7, 2013: Love is the universal language that eliminates disparity and hate and simultaneously constructs the bonding of love’ said Udupi Diocese Bishop Dr Jerald Isac Lobo.

He was delivering the Christmas message on the occasion of All Religion Christmas Celebrations organized at Mother of Sorrows Church premises here on December 6, Friday. He said that the lord calls for a living that discards evil and promotes kindness and honesty. Message of sacrifice should be spread across the universe. On the special occasion of Christmas, the Lord blesses with the gifts of hopefulness and confidence, he added.

Dr. Gananath Ekkar, Professor of Tenkanidiyur PG Centre, Dr. Mohammed Rafiq Managing Director of Thonse Health Centre and Dr Rathish Johnson Medical Director of CSI Lombard Hospital Udupi were the chief guests of the event. The event was organised by the Diocese of Udupi along with Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and Udupi church unit Sauhardha Samithi.

The major attraction of the celebration was the six feet wide ‘Goodu Deepa’ prepared by Alan Mendonca, which was installed in the premises of Mother of Sorrow Church.
