Mangalore, Feb 1, 2013 : The second edition of the Kannada translation of the Quran by Abdussalam Puthige, was released at a function held at Town Hall on February 1, Friday under the aegis of Forum for Humanity and Yuva Vahini Central Committee, Mangalore. The book has been published by Madhyama Prakashana, Bangalore.
Speaking after releasing the book Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, Professor in St Aloysius College, opined that all religious centres need to have religious scripts of all religions Giving the example of Bappanadu Temple which is a splendid example of communal harmony, he said history says how the Goddess fulfilled the wishes of Bappa Byary.
Author Abdussalam Puttige, presided over the function.Abdullah Kunhi, Chancellor, Yenepoya University, Monsignor Fr Denis Prabhu, Vicar General, Mangalore Diocese, K Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, President, Jagathika Buntara Sanghagala Okkuta, Dr C P Habeeb Rehman, President, Forum for Humanity, and Vijay Kumar Kubevoor, President, Yuvavahini Central Committee, were also present on the dais.
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, who was one of the invitees, however could not make it to the function. His message which stressed the need for peace and harmony by sinking differences, was read out on the occasion.
