24-year-old man arrested for rape bid on minor girl near Someshwara Beach

Ullal, June 29, 2025: A youth allegedly attempted to assault a minor girl inside his car near Someshwara Beach. Based on the girl’s complaint, the police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused, identified as Kelvin (24), a resident of Adyar Valachil, has been arrested.

Kelvin reportedly befriended the girl, a resident of Talapady, on Instagram. He gained her trust by expressing love and maintained contact with her through phone calls. Last Thursday, he met the girl near her house and persuaded her to accompany him to Someshwara Beach in his car.

Further investigations are underway, the Ullal Police said.

The girl stated in her complaint to the police that the accused attempted to sexually assault her despite her resistance. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act at the Ullal Police Station.
