18 IndiGo flights cancelled at Mangaluru International Airport; passengers face hardship

Mangaluru, Dec 6, 2025: The crisis facing IndiGo Airlines, the country’s largest carrier, continued on Friday, leading to the cancellation of 18 flights at Mangaluru International Airport.

According to official sources, nine departures and nine arrivals were cancelled. Only four flights operated, and three of them were delayed by about 30 minutes from their scheduled time.

The large-scale disruption of IndiGo’s operations has caused severe inconvenience to passengers across airports in the country. The impact on IndiGo flights has also created minor delays for other airlines.

In response to the situation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has implemented several passenger-centric measures. These include automatic refunds for tickets of cancelled flights, accommodation for stranded passengers, lounge access for senior citizens, and snacks for travellers facing delays. Additional staff have been deployed at airports to manage the increased passenger load amid disruptions.

Mangaluru International Airport is coordinating with IndiGo to provide all possible assistance to affected travellers. Seating arrangements and drinking water facilities have been arranged in the departure area for the convenience of passengers, officials said.

Passenger falls ill amid delays

A passenger who reportedly fell ill due to the prolonged disruption at Mangaluru Airport received medical attention from an on-site medical team.

The 30-year-old traveller complained of dizziness and general weakness near the airline reservation counter. He recovered after receiving first aid from the medical team.
