15 days to solve gas issues

15 days to solve gas issues

Mangalore Today News Network

lpg issueMangalore, July 24:The state government has given 15 days to all LPG consumers to solve issues related to their gas connection.

Unfortunately, the names of innumerable consumers are missing from the website www.ahara.kar.nic.in although they have submitted the required documents and the department has been getting a number of complaints.

The names of around 35,000 consumers in Mangalore alone were not found in the website’s gas connection list, owing to which the government has given 15 days for consumers to add their names to the website.

Consumers can add their names by visiting www.ahar.kar.nic.in, enter their ration card number and RR number, and their names will be uploaded within 10 days.

Those who cannot access the Internet can provide their documents at their respective taluk offices, which have opened help centres for the purpose.

Mangalore has a total of 2 lakh gas connections and only 1 lakh consumers have submitted the required reports. The department says that the names of 35,000 consumers who have submitted their details are not available on the website.

Customers can call the following numbers for more details:
Mangalore – 0824-2220571, 0824-2423622
Kundapur – 08254-230357, 9448625545, 9972534828
Udupi – 0820-2530127
Karkala- 08258-230201, 9448911873, 9448953240, 9901416132
But LPG woes continue

A number of people, even those who have submitted their documents to LPG dealers several months ago, have found to their dismay that their gas connections have been either suspended or marked for verification.

The government has requested consumers to either upload their documents through the website www.ahar.kar.nic.in or visit the nearest office of the deputy director. However, those who approached the deputy director were told that the servers are down.

A consumer who tried to upload his documents at an Internet cafe could not do so, owing to which he approached the nearest deputy director’s office, where he could not get any help either.

Deputy Director Sharanabasappa said that the usernames given to officials did not work, owing to which they had to get new usernames and passwords. He said that the problems will be sorted out on Monday, adding that 3 computers will be dedicated to scanning and uploading documents.
