Mangaluru, Dec 03, 2020: The state government has a target of building 11,000 residential quarters for police personnel in the next five year period. There is also a budgetary approval for the same, said State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He was speaking after inaugurating a complex of 112 houses for police personnel at Panambur on December 3, Thursday. Bommai said once 11,000 houses are built 60% of police personnel will get housing facility.
Referring to Dakshina Kannada district, he said there is a demand for 192 houses for police personnel and added that the district administration has furnished information of land availability for building 74 houses. The minister said it has been decided to build 100 houses and that rest of the houses will be constructed once land is identified.
DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, local corporator Sumitra Kariya and others were present.
