Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2022: ‘Save the bees’ awareness program, Seminar and live demonstration on beekeeping was conducted by Honeybees United, Mangalore in association with C.O.D.P on 22nd August 2022 at C.O.D.P, Padua, Mangalore.

 

 

 

 

The program was inaugurated by Rev.Fr. Vincent D’Souza, Director, C.O.D.P by lighting  the lamp. In his inaugural address he lauded the efforts of Honeybees United in promoting awareness on beekeeping , he explained the gathering how honeybees play a major role in pollination and sustaining the ‘life on earth as we know it’.

Chief guest Commander G P Mascarenhas, retired commander Indian Navy, a war veteran and environmentalist spoke on the occasion and asked the attendees to be the torch bearers of beekeeping to fight global warming. Renowned doctor Dr. Suchitra Rao; Stephen Pinto, Advisor, Educare Trust; Deric Pinto, Founder, Derik’s Chess School; Yeshavantha Kumar, Resource Person and Suresh Raj of Honeybees United were also present on the dais.

Yeshavantha Kumar explained the importance of honeybees, urban beekeeping and gave the live demonstration to the gathering. Live demonstration was held at nearby farm.

More than 100 enthusiasts had attended the program.

Preema Fernandes of Bannur, 2nd rank holder in hotel management, student of Educare Trust was facilitated on the occasion.

Honeybees United is a mangalore based initiative intended to promote beekeeping and fight the climate change.
