Puttur: Two arrested in prostitution racket bust at Samethadka

Puttur, July 2, 2025: Acting on a tip-off about alleged prostitution activities at Samethadka in the city, the Dakshina Kannada District Women’s Police Station conducted a raid and arrested two accused.

Based on reliable information that a man named Wilfred, a resident of Samethadka, was running a prostitution racket from a building near his residence, the police team led by the station inspector carried out the operation and took two individuals into custody.

A case has been registered at the Dakshina Kannada District Women’s Police Station (Crime No. 51/2025). The accused have been booked under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Sections 3, 4, and 5(3) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The arrested persons were produced before the court, which has remanded them to judicial custody till July 15.
