The DC was accompanied by MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar.

Expressing his appreciation of the property owners for their willingness to give up their property, he said that the district administration will construct the compound wall of all these properties and the property owners will finish the inner work of the compound walls. The owners will be given additional transferable development rights (TDR), he added. This means that if the government acquires land for road widening or any other public purpose, the land owner will get monetary compensation. The TDR can also be sold to other developers.

The DC and the MCC commissioner also spoke to the temple authorities, who assured them that the main entrance of the temple will be shifted before Dussera.

Regarding other road development projects across the city, he said that four properties in KS Rao Road have already been acquired. In Kankandy, all families, but one, are willing to give up their property for widening purposes. The old house near PVS Circle has been demolished and land will be acquired for widening. The St. Agnes to Kadri stretch will also be widened, he added.

The DC and the MCC commissioner were accompanied by surveyors, MCC members, and local corporators.
