Ullal: JD(S) candidate alleges he was forced to withdraw nomination; files complaint

Mangaluru, April 27, 2023: Altaf Kumpala who had filed his nomination as a JD(S) candidate from Mangaluru Constituency and had later withdrawn without even informing party leaders, has now lodged a complaint at Ullal police station alleging that he was threatened and forced to withdraw his nomination.

 

The complainant has named the accused as Mustafa alias Kuburu Mustafa, Usman Kallaup, Riyaz and others and has alleged that they were supporters of Congress candidate.

In this connection cases have been registered against the accused under IPC Section 365, 504, 506, 171C, 384 and 34.

Altaf in his complaint said on April 21 at 3 pm the accused  had threatened him at a place behind Melangady Darga and pressurized to withdraw nomination. He has also alleged that they forcibly secured his signature for the nomination withdrawal letter and then sent him to the office of the election officer. The accused also barged into his house late night and threatened him, the complainant has alleged.
